RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN Our first community experience of faith is through participation in the Mass.  At our 9:30 “Family” Mass, children, ages 5 through 8, are gathered together for our “Liturgy of the Word for Children.”  They return to their places with their families after the homily.  Parish youth, particularly those who attend public school and who are in grades kindergarten through 5th grade meet weekly following the 9:30 Sunday  Mass from 10:35 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., from September through May.  Using age appropriate resources, children learn about living their lives as Roman Catholics.  Topics include worship, sacraments, service, doctrine, and prayers.  As catechists in the Church, we work with our families, “the domestic Church,” in a team approach to help form and educate the hearts and minds of our children in the faith.  RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS Our Middle School Youth Ministry “EDGE” is a program designed to create a positive experience of the Catholic Church for young adolescents (ALL 6th, 7th & 8th graders are invited to attend).  This ministry is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional and social needs of this age group.  Parents are encouraged to participate as part of the team that provides fun, food, and formation on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from August through May from 5:45-7:15 p.m. in the Community Center. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS Our High School Youth Ministry, “Life Teen” is for ALL high school students in the parish.  This is the program that follows EDGE for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.  Life Teen meets every other Sunday beginning with the contemporary Mass at 11:00 a.m.  As with EDGE, parents are encouraged to participate as part of the core team to provide fun, food, and formation. In addition, all students of the parish who are attending public high school, or those students wanting to delve deeper into discipleship and scripture, may register for LIGHTHOUSE.  This faith formation program for teens takes place on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Early Childhood Center.  Registration for these programs are on-going.  Forms are available in the parish office.  For more information on any of our Religious Education programs, please contact us at 386.255.0433.
