Planned Giving – A Lasting Legacy

Your Will

Half of all Catholics die without a will.  Will you be one of them?

Without a will, the state may distribute your assets in ways that do not meet your family’s needs or reflect your Catholic values.

Naming the Church as a beneficiary in your will is one of the simplest and most popular ways to provide lasting support for your parish, school, or another ministry of the Diocese of Orlando.

You can structure your will to leave a specific amount to the Church or you can designate that the Church receive a certain percentage or even the remainder of your estate.  You can also direct your gift to a specific ministry.  Just a few sentences in your will are all that is needed, and you can modify your gift at any time.

If you already have a valid, up-to-date will, you do not have to rewrite it to include the Church.  Instead, you can add the Church to your will by making an amendment called a codicil.

For more information on how to remember the Church in your will, please contact Kay Thompson in our parish office at 386-255-0433.

Life Insurance

Did you know that you can make a substantial gift to our parish with little cost to you?

Life insurance policies offer a simple and inexpensive way to leave a lasting legacy to the Church.  You can designate your parish as a beneficiary on your policy, or you can donate a policy that you own but no longer need.

Many people have insurance policies already in force that can be redirected to benefit the church.  By designating the Church as both the owner and beneficiary of the policy, you may also qualify for tax advantages.

A policy that is paid up or has cash value may even pay for itself with no further premium payments from you.

Charitable Gift Annuity

Would you like to support the work of the church while receiving regular payments for life?

A charitable gift annuity allows you to serve the people of God while providing for your own income needs.

Through this simple arrangement, you make an irrevocable gift to the Church, which in turn pays you a fixed income amount for the rest of your life.  For example, a 65 year old parishioner who makes a single life charitable gift annuity to the Church may receive 5.3% annually in return for the gift.*

At the end of your lifetime, the remaining gift is used by the Church for ministries that you have designated.

We can help you set up a charitable gift annuity that will benefit the Church and provide you with regular income payments.  Please contact Kay Thompson in our parish office at 386-255-0433.
