ALL Are Welcome Here.

And ALL Means ALL.

Loving God. Loving Neighbor.

Learn more about Lourdes.

May the church be the place of God’s mercy and love, where everyone can feel themselves welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live according to the good life of the Gospel. And in order to make others feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged, the church must have open doors so that all might enter. And we must go out of those doors and proclaim the Gospel.”

—Pope Francis continuing a series of meditations on the church June 12

Welcome.

Our Welcome Message to You!

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic

Community

All are welcome!

We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced,  gay, filthy rich, dirt poor, y no habla Ingles.  We extend a special welcome to those who are crying new-born, skinny as a rail, or could afford to lose a few pounds.  We welcome you if you can sing like Andrea Bocelli or like our pastor who can’t carry a note in a bucket. You’re welcome here if you’re “just browsing,” just woke up, or just got out of jail. We don’t care if you’re more Catholic than the Pope, or haven’t been in church since little Joey’s Baptism. We extend a special welcome to those who are over 60 but not grown up yet, and to teenagers who are growing up too fast. We welcome soccer moms, NASCAR dads, starving artists, tree-huggers, latte-sippers, vegetarians, junk-food eaters. We welcome those who are in recovery or are still addicted.  We welcome you if you’re having problems, or you’re down in the dumps, or you don’t like “organized religion,” we’ve been there too. If you blew all your offering money at the dog track, you’re welcome here.  We offer a special welcome to those who think the earth is flat, work too hard, don’t work, can’t spell, or came because grandma is in town and wanted to go to church. We welcome those who are inked, pierced or both.  We offer a special welcome to those who could use a prayer right now, had religion shoved down your throat as a kid, or got lost in traffic and wound up here by mistake. We welcome the flexible, inflexible, tolerant & intolerant, those who laughed as well as those who gasped at this welcome card. We welcome tourists, seekers, doubters, bleeding hearts, and you!

Mission Statement.

“Loving the God we cannot see by loving the neighbor we can.”

We are a diverse community – called to love the God we cannot see by loving the neighbor we can.

We strive to provide a welcoming place of worship for ALL – and all means ALL.

We are called to prayer and action in our community, with the desire to build a world of peace and justice. We recognize all we have is a gift from God to be used for the good of one another. The dignity and sacredness of all human life inspires us to advocate for the poor, oppressed, and exploited.

We believe we are God’s presence in this world (God’s hands and feet), and that God gives us the strength we need to build the kingdom of God, here and everywhere.

Vision Statement.

Our vision is to bring glad tidings to the poor, liberty to captives, let the oppressed go free, sight to the blind (seeing as God sees, not as the world sees), and to announce a new reality called the “Kingdom of God”.

What we believe.

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Not From You, For You

When you give in a place of worship as an act of worship, you are becoming more of the person God wants you to be.  When you give, you are tangibly making a difference in someone’s life.  The hungry are fed, children are educated, marriages are restored, lives are healed, and people meet Jesus.  There’s no better investment in the world than the local parish.
