Hungry for a family that demonstrates love?
Hungry to talk about and listen to the things that really matter?
Hungry for meaningful and effective actions that change lives and improve our communities?
Dinner Church is worship; prayer; a meal; a time of relationship-building and meeting new friends; an evening of prayer and Scripture; a place to be heard and seen; an extended family on mission, discovering a calling to serve our neighbors and neighborhoods; a church without walls that does not discriminate or exclude anyone—especially welcoming those who have never experienced church—and those who have been judged, hurt, or excluded by church or others.
At Dinner Church, we prepare a wholesome meal together within a context full of prayers, candlelight, music, and a blessing of the food, followed by the meal and a short message meant to start discussion. There will also be silence. Through our gathering and participation we are learning to live together in faith and hope through love. We are practicing the way of Jesus–a way of healing, forgiveness, unconditional love, hospitality and welcome, mercy and compassion.
Dinner Church matters because food may be one of the only holy moments we can experience that reaches across all the lines that usually divide us. It is engaging worship that involves everyone pitching in—be it cooking, prepping, cleaning, setting the table, or just watching the kids. A co-creative kind of togetherness.
We welcome your faith questions and doubts. We welcome your personal gifts and your disabilities.
